Alpha 3 Patch Notes

Once again I am impressed with the amount of changes the Fateless team were able to fit in between Alpha 2 and Alpha 3! Below are the official patch notes released on September 1st, 2 days before the final Alpha wave begins.
The update includes a number of balance changes, new features, and bugfixes that address community feedback from the previous testing periods. Here is a summary of the changes outlined in the official patch notes.
Debuff and Boss Mechanic Changes
Core mechanics for certain debuffs have been adjusted, and a significant change has been made to how bosses interact with them.
- Bleeds: The bleed mechanic now has a visual stack counter on enemies. The previous issue that allowed more than 10 bleed stacks to be applied has been fixed. Additionally, certain heroes like Achilles and Dracula can now correctly remove bleeds to activate their abilities.
- Boss Debuff Resistance: A previously inactive boss passive is now working correctly. This passive reduces incoming damage from debuffs like Bleed, Blaze, and Acid to 25% of their normal damage. Prior to this patch, bosses were taking full damage from these effects.
Divinity and Weapon Balancing
The patch addresses gameplay loops related to Divinity generation and certain weapon bonuses.
Divinity Ultimate Generators: These have been rebalanced. They previously could generate Divinity from actions that occurred outside of the hero's own turn (such as an ally receiving a buff). Now, Divinity generation is focused on actions performed by the hero who has the generator equipped.
Weapons: Similar to Divinity Generators, a number of weapons that provided team-wide bonuses have been adjusted. Many of these bonuses now focus on actions taken by the hero wielding the weapon. Several weaker weapons have also been updated to provide more options for players. Notably, Heka now gives additional HP based on your ATK instead of the other way around.
Hero and Fafnir Updates
There are specific updates for a few heroes and a series of changes to the boss Fafnir that increase difficulty.
- Dagonet: His passive ability has been updated.
- The previous passive gave him a 50% chance to join an attack on an enemy below 50% HP.
- The new passive gives him a 50% chance to increase his Turn Meter by 5% whenever he places a debuff.
- Shamash: His ultimate ability now places a Shield based on overhealing, where it previously placed a Barrier.
- Fafnir: The Fafnir encounter has been made more challenging.
- After casting 20 ultimates, Fafnir will now ignore Immortal, Shields, Barriers, and Ward.
- The fight on Stage 151 now has a hard limit of 500 turns.
- Fafnir and the Golden Guardian have had their stats increased at higher stages.
New Features & Economy Updates
The patch also includes several new UI features and changes to the in-game economy and loot drops.
- New UI Features:
- A counter showing the number of heroes owned has been added to the roster screen.
- The in-battle UI now displays the current Wave, Turn number, and a Battle Timer.
- Economy & Loot:
- The drop rate for Epic Heroes in Stages 60-120 has been increased.
- The drop rates for higher-quality armor in stages 60 and higher have been increased.
- The guaranteed epic and legendary hero rewards on stages 20 and 30 have been updated.
- A new farming location for Alchemy Stones, exclusively for Eternal rarity heroes, has been added at stage 125.
Key Bugfixes
The update includes a comprehensive list of bug fixes to improve game stability and correct unintended behavior.
- Fixes for hero AI behavior.
- Fixes for an issue where Challenges and Stages would not grant rewards.
- Fixes related to using ultimates in Star Challenges.
- Fixes for several issues with Armor Set Bonuses.
- Fixed a bug that caused Shishi to place a barrier on all allies when she received debuffs.
- Fixed an issue causing Shields and Barriers to generate at higher quantities than designed.
- Fixed a bug that would cause a player to skip a turn after selecting imprints or passives in battle.
- Updated text and localization for several abilities to correct errors and improve clarity.
- Fixed an issue that could cause promotion events to fail if a player had a specific amount of gold.
- Addressed several problems that prevented the Leaderboard from displaying progress correctly.
